A study conducted by research and consulting firm Bersin and Associates reveals that equipping managers with Coaching skills can yield a 130% increase in business performance.
Meaning, adopting a coaching mindset can lead to immense benefits, such as…
Another research study by Bersin and Associates reveals that organisations that encourage and build a continuous learning culture can experience:
a) A profit growth that is three times greater than their competitors.
b) A 37% increase in employee productivity
The research also indicates that organisations that encourage a continuous learning culture are 58% likelier to have skilled workers capable of meeting the organisation’s future needs, giving them an edge over competitors.
But what exactly is continuous learning, you ask?
At an individual level, continuous learning is about expanding one’s skill-sets in response to the changing environment and new developments.
At an organisational level, it is all about equipping team members with the right skill-set and knowledge to ensure that they’re capable of adapting to changes in the business environment – unpredictable or otherwise.
When organisations encourage continuous learning via coaching, the benefit is three-fold:
i. Employee Development: Managers focus on creating and providing numerous growth and development opportunities for employees, and provide constant guidance and support to ensure performance improvement.
ii. Better Manager-Employee Interaction: Team members get the opportunity to interact with managers one-on-one and discuss their goals, aspirations, issues etc., that can be addressed in time.
iii. Stronger Employee-Manger Relationship: Managers and team members are given an opportunity to build a great working relationship, making it safe for employees to approach the manager without hesitation and making it easier for mangers to gain a better understanding of each team member’s needs.
Meaning, encouraging continuous learning via coaching can greatly contribute to the company’s overall growth, development and success, which can be hugely beneficial in the long-run.
Encouraging and building a continuous learning culture is one of the two major benefits of coaching to organisations.
We will explore another benefit in the next lesson.
