Rest assured, the others you refer to will be addressed too, and that is fair too. You asked for instances. I have observed you wearing flip-flops to work for the past week now. And pastel colours are what we ask that our employees wear, given that we have clients visiting our office regularly. The colours you pick to wear are slightly more radical for our company’s theme. You can see why that would make you stand out in a business environment, don’t you? What’s more is that it would just set a wrong precedent among employees. So any ideas on how we can manage this differently going forward?”

b. “Sumeet, like I said, I think we both know where this is coming from. Let’s just be mature about this. Now look, I’m not enjoying this conversation either. So let’s get this over with – No more loud gaudy colours, if it’s not pastel, I don’t want to see it on you in office. And leather shoes…please! Now quit your whining, and get to it”

c. “There’s no need to get defensive, Sumeet. You want evidence? Fine. For your information, I have observed you always wear flip-flops to office. d. “Who says I picking only on you? I’m talking to everyone on the team who needs to be dealt with. And everyone is belting out the same excuse as you, FYI. So, do you really want to go the same way as them, or do you want to grab this opportunity to prove your mettle? I need to see action on this one, Sumeet. You need to go through the dress code policy and come back to me with an action plan on what you’re going to do, and how you’re going to toe the line with the dress code policy. That’s the only way this is going to work. ”
